Three months of complimentary Marriott Bonvoy Gold Elite status.

The Chase Sapphire Reserve® is one of the best premium travel rewards credit cards available today. In the past, Chase and Marriott have offered Chase Sapphire Reserve cardholders complimentary Marriott Bonvoy Gold Elite status with options to extend it after the promotional period.

Now, the promotion is back — here’s how you can unlock automatic status.

Get Marriott Bonvoy Gold Elite Status for 3 Months

The Chase Sapphire Reserve® card is once again offering a limited-time benefit: three months of complimentary Marriott Bonvoy Gold Elite status.

Cardholders can register for this offer between July 1 and September 30, 2025, through their Ultimate Rewards dashboard or the dedicated promotion page. After enrolling, the Gold status will typically reflect in your Marriott Bonvoy account within a few business days.

To extend the status beyond the initial three months, members need to complete at least three qualifying paid nights at Marriott properties during the trial period. Successfully doing so will extend your Gold Elite status through February 2027.

This promotion is available only to Chase Sapphire Reserve (or J.P. Morgan Reserve) cardholders who currently hold Silver status or lower in Marriott Bonvoy.

How To Extend Your New Marriott Status

While the first 3 months of your new Marriott Gold Elite status are complimentary, you can extend your status through February 2027 by staying 3 qualifying paid nights at participating Marriott hotels.

Here’s the fine print for this offer:

  • Your 3 nights must be completed during your initial 3-month complimentary Gold Elite status period.
  • Award nights don’t count.
  • Qualifying nights must be booked through Marriott’s website or mobile app. Nights booked through third parties, including the Chase Travel portal, do not count.
  • Nights do not need to be consecutive.

Is this a good deal?

There is no downside to the 3-month complimentary Marriott Bonvoy status, so yes, it’s a good deal. Whether or not staying 3 paid nights to extend your status is a good idea will be a personal decision.

If you’ve got 3 nights you need to stay in a hotel during a 3-month period, it could make sense to spend those nights in a Marriott location to extend your status. However, I probably wouldn’t go out of my way to make that happen.

While there are some nice perks of Marriott Bonvoy Gold Elite status — such as 2 p.m. late checkout and room upgrades — it doesn’t come with some of the more desirable hotel elite status perks, such as free breakfast.

Plus, Marriott Gold Elite status comes complimentary with these credit cards, so it’s relatively easy to get:
